Here is a comprehensive set of guidelines to help you understand my process and pricing for the different services I offer. Please feel free to visit my contact page for info on how to contact me, should you have any further questions or comments.
- Process
- Step 1.
- Initial Consultation:
- Once you have a "Eureka! moment" and have a rough idea of what you would like, you can call or e-mail me and give me a brief description of what you are looking for. We can then set up a meeting to discuss your ideas/concepts in depth discussing such relevant themes as, design, color scheme, size and placement, etc. At such time, I bring appropriate materials, (photos, samples, etc.) to further help "flesh out" the idea. Please feel free to bring or add any source material that you feel may be appropriate for the project.
- I will take digital photos and measurements of the area that will help me during the sketch and sample phase of the project.
- We will then discuss scheduling and estimated length(s) of time for any and all projects discussed.
- Step 2.
- Sample Phase:
- I will refer to my notes from our initial consultation and begin creating sample boards and/or detailed sketches or "thumbnails", (small rough sketches). * If appropriate I can combine these samples with the digital photos I have of your room(s) to provide a comprehensive layout of the design that gives you a good understanding of what the finished product will look like.
- Please note: There will be a $35.00 sample fee for detailed sketches and/or renderings for murals or design elements. (negotiable)
- Please note: There will be a $25.00 sample fee, (per sample, up to 2) for any faux, paint or finish samples that may be made for a project. Any additional samples will be made at a reduced price of $20.00 per sample.
- I will send you, (via e-mail if appropriate), or bring you the finished sample. Once samples have been approved I will then provide a Contract that will be reviewed and signed by all appropriate persons. We will then discuss and plan a schedule for the project.
- Step 3.
- Project Phase:
- I arrive at the appropriate scheduled time and begin the project, transforming your home or office into a unique and wonderful new space that can be enjoyed for many years to come!
- Pricing:
- Children's murals and thematic elements.
- Please note that I work with all types of budgets so I can individually price the elements, giving you greater flexibility within any given project.
- Adult Murals, Trompel'oeil and design elements:
- These types of murals and/or elements run in the range of $15.00 to $25.00 a sq ft. Again, the complexity of the job is reflective of the price.
- Faux Finishing: These types of finishes start at about $3.50 a square ft and go up from there. There are several types of finishes that fall under this category. These include:
French wash or color wash Wood Graining
Ragging Faux Stone
Lime Wash Faux Marbling
Sponging Combing and Dragging
Gold Leaf Painted Stripes
Glazing or "Staining"
- Textural and Plaster Finishes:
- These finishes are a bit more complicated to apply. They start at $9.00 a sq ft and go up from there.
- Supplies and Materials:
- These range from paint and application tools up to scaffolding and all prices are determined by my suppliers.
